Election Sites Prep For Surge Of Poll Monitors

DOJ Challenging Noncitizen-Voter List

Fresno County voters should expect to see noticeably more election observers than in a typical election. Officials say competitive congressional races, national attention on election integrity, and Fresno County's importance in the battle for House control are driving the increased monitoring effort.

The fight over California's alleged noncitizen-voter list has expanded beyond election administration into a courtroom battle over data access and court orders. The DOJ maintains its list is accurate and says the group's analysis violated a judge's restrictions, while the plaintiffs argue they followed the court's instructions and that their review uncovered significant flaws in the government's data.
