In the second chapter of Chitragupta Ki Sabha, the brother-sister duo of Vibhishan & Shrupnakha are pitied against each other.
It’s well known that despite being a demon and Raavan’s brother, Vibhishan was loyal to Lord Ram and played a key role in Raavan’s demise.
In Chitragupta’s court, Shrupnakha questions his betrayal to Raavan but also blames him for being disloyal to her. Quoting him as an unfit brother who neither came to her rescue nor attempted to avenge her after being mistreated by Lakshman, Shrupnakha tries to play the victim card.
Chitragupta, also known as Dharmaraj is the Lord who keeps records of one’s actions in their lifetime and decides their fate in the afterlife. In his mythical court, we have brought the characters from the great epic - Ramayana to make their case and answer some tough questions.
We all are aware of the story of Ramayana, the great victory of Vishnu-Avatar Shri Ram over the demon Lord Raavan but in this edition, we bring to you a twist. Many decisions, many actions in the story which seemed suitable for that era now appear to be redundant.
In this audio-drama, the women of Ramayan will question the men of Ramayan, asking questions that were left unanswered in the epic. The men with their answers and justification bring a new, more relevant perspective to the epic.
The audio-drama is written and directed by Kanu Priya
