Let's go. Hurry up, Aiden, it's time to go, shouted Sarah Kelly. They were both ring to put their shoes on because it was almost time to go to their Grammy and Graham Pop's house, who they loved going there as often as they could because they got to bake some delicious cookies. Every time, or almost every time they went to Grammy and Graham Pop's house. They put their shoes on, jumped in the car and their parents drove off. Oh boy, I can't wait to make those cookies again, Sarah Kelly said Aidan. You see, these cookies were world famous. Everyone loved these delicious chocolate chip cookies. It was some kind of secret recipe that Grammy had from a very long time ago, that no one else in the whole world had. I think I'm gonna eat all of them, said Sarah Kelly. No way, I'm gonna eat at least two, said Aidan. They just couldn't wait to get there. Not only did they love baking cookies with their grandparents, but they also loved playing in their the woods in their backyard. You see, in the back behind their grandparents house there was a big forest and a river. Yes, this river was so cool, and it even had a bridge that you could walk across it. That was their favorite place to go play and pretend and imagine things, and it was a really cool place. Well, it felt like it took forever, but they finally arrived Grammy Grandpop. They both shouted as they ran in the door. Their parents had some errands to run today and so they got to spend their whole day with Grammy and Graham Pop. As they raced inhive and started to get to work on baking these delicious cookies. They followed the recipe and each in every step you see, to make the most delicious cookies in the whole wide world, you have to follow the recipe perfectly. You cannot make any mistakes along the way. And so when it asks for a cup of flour, you have to put it in exactly one cup of flour. And the same goes for the amount of chocolate chips and the amount of sugar. And I can't tell you the rest because it's a secret. Well, they finished making the cookie dough and rolled it into all the circles and put it on a pan and placed it in the oven. And now it was time for them to go play. Yeah, aid and I think it's gonna take about twenty minutes, So let's go play by the bridge. Let's go. Aidan and Sarah Kelly both in out towards the bridge, and it had been a long time since they had been there, but they were really excited to be back. All right, what should we play? Said Sarah Kelly. Um who goes there? What was that? Shouted Aidan as he jumped off the bridge. Who goes there. It's just my name's Sarah Kelly and this is my brother Aidan. I Uh, who's down there? This is my bridge and you cannot walk across it unless I say you can. Okay, okay huh. As they leaned over to the side of the bridge and looked underneath, they saw a grumpy old troll. What since when did an old troll live under this bridge? Aidan and Sarah Kelly both looked at each other. They weren't sure exactly what to do. Uh, we were just coming to place, Uh, Mr troll? Um, is there a problem? Like? Can we just go to the other side of the bridge and just play? Well, if you want to go to the other side of the bridge, you're gonna have to pay me a toll. A toll for the troll, said Aidan. He kind of laughed to himself. A toll. What kind of toll do you need? Mr? Troll? Well, I like uh sweet things. I like the most delicious treats in the whole world. So if you have a delicious treat for me, then you can cross the bridge, said the troll. What about the cookies? Do you think the cookies will be a good enough treat? For him. Oh, I guarantee it. Those are the best cookies in the whole world. All right, Mr Troll, we will be right back with a treat for you. Just hold on tight and we'll be right back. Aiden and Sarah Kelly ran back to the house, hoping that the cookies would be ready. As they ran back inside, their grammy said, oh, they're not quite done yet, just a few more minutes. Aiden and Sarah Kelly couldn't wait any longer. We're running out of time. Uh what do we do? Um? Uh? Oh? What if? Can we just take some out now and you can bake the rest later? Oh? I don't know about that, said grammy. We're in a hurry. Okay, you can take two, said Grammy perfect. Aiden grabbed a plate and Sarah Kelly opened the oven carefully and took out two that were still a little floppy. They put them on the plate and ran as fast as they could back to the bridge. Who goes there, shouted the troll. I think he'd forgotten. Oh it's it's us, said Aiden. Remember my name is Aiden, and this is Sarah Kelly. You cannot pass the bridge, and we know, we know, we just had this conversation with you. Um, I guess you forgot, but we have two delicious cookies for you. Did you say cookies, said the troll. Oh okay, pat passed them over. Let me let me smell them. They set the plate on the bridge that had the two soft cookies, and the troll climbed up to the bridge and bent over and took a sniff. Oh, they smell delicious. Let me taste them, and he popped both of them right in his mouth. Wow, those are incredible. I need more, more and more and more. The uh if if if if uh, I just need two more and then then you can pass two more cookies. Uh okay, but that's all. That's all you're getting. No more, said Sarah Kelly. They ran back to the house to get two more cookies and put them on the plate and ran back to the bridge. The grumpy old troll was eagerly waiting standing on the bridge. He was tapping his foot because he was a little impatient. Let's go, Let's go run faster, said the troll. Aiden and Sarah Kelly ran as fast as they could, carrying the plate. They set it down and the troll, there's are so good, gobbled The two cookies up. All right, you can pass. I'm gonna go take a nap, but if you want to pass the bridge again, you must bring me those cookies. And the grumpy old troll crawled back under the bridge and fell fast asleep. I think those cookies like put them to sleep, said Aidan. Wow, all right, well let's go play. Aiden and Sarah Kelly ran across the bridge to the other side, and those cookies worked their magic, because that grumpy old troll fell fast asleep and slept the rest of the day. The two of them were able to play the rest of the day without having to give up any more cookies. And when they were done playing, they ran back to the house and ate their cookies with their grammy and Grandpap. What an awesome day they had. The end, great job.
