Short biography: Mncedisi studied theatre at The Market Theatre Short biography: Mncedisi studied theatre at The Market Theatre Laboratory in Johannesburg and The Royal National Theatre Studio in London. He started his acting career here in Kanyamazane before he was recruited by The Market Theatre. He has worked with international acclaimed directors both in theatre and film notably Lara Foot, James Ngcobo, John Matshikiza, Aubrey Sekhabi, Paul Grootboom, Robyn Orlin, Malcom Purkey, Craig Higginson, Jaco Bouwer, William Kentridge just to mention a few. And film directors are Phillip Noyce for the movie 'Catch a fire' Oliver Schmit for the movie 'Hijack stories' and others. So a a an actor Mncedisi has won many awards and is currently nominated for best supporting actor in the Naledi Theatre Awards. As for directing l will only mention plays that I've done about my personal stories from lakhaya. 'WANGESHEYA-WANGESHEYA’, 10111, GALVANOMIT, VUKA MACHEL, 13, IN THE HEART, TEN BUSH, KANYAMAZANE which were all performed at the Market theatre and Windybrow Theatre respectively. Mncedisi's directions have won him many accolades including the Standard Bank Young Artist Award. As a teacher Mncedisi has taught other two Standard Bank Young Artists recipients in Motshabi Monageng and Prince Lamla. For the first time in the history of Kanyamazane he is producing a season of theatre comprising of 4 acclaimed work in VUKA MACHEL, 1986, WOZA ALBERT, EMTINI. Those who watch television will also remember his performance as Jezebomvu in Ukhakhayi and Skhakhane in iNumber number in Johannesburg and The Royal National Theatre Studio in London.
