John and his wife, Elaine, tragically lost their son a few months shy of his 13th birthday. He was born with a heart defect and died on the operating table 3 years ago. 

John was retrenched just three days after his son's death. He's been unemployed since. 

The couple has now lost their home, and once the lockdown is over, they will have to move in with Cecelia in her 1 bedroom flat.
