Backyard granny flats are about to get bigger, and easier to build.
The Government's announced it's going further to ease construction regulations, allowing for an estimated 13-thousand new flats to be built without consents.
The proposed 60 square metre maximum is now increasing to 70.
Building and Construction Minister Chris Penk, says removing these barriers is critical for increasing housing supply.
