Breaking the Silence around Sibling Sexual Abuse with author Alice Perle

View descriptionShare

Australian author Alice Perle is a courageous voice in a growing global conversation about Sibling Sexual Abuse.

As a survivor of Sibling Sexual Abuse herself, Alice has now written about her experiences and combined that with the latest scientific research showing how the problem is far more widespread than many in society realise.

Sibling Sexual Abuse is the most common form of child sexual abuse in families - at least three times more common than incest between a parent and child.

However discussing the topic is one of society’s last taboos. That’s something that Alice Perle hopes to change on today’s episode of Keeping Kids Safe - A Bright Futures podcast.

By shining a light on Sibling Sexual Abuse, she hopes to  prevent more children from becoming victims, as well as take away the stigma and shame that so many survivors feel, so they can seek the help they need.

It’s time for difficult conversations to shine light on this hidden topic. This podcast talks openly about child abuse, child sexual abuse, child sexual exploitation and harmful sexual behaviours.

Each episode of this series will feature practical insights on how to teach your child safety in the world today.
