There is an ongoing mental health care provider shortage affecting children and young adults across the United States. A 2016 report projects a deficit of more than 10,000 psychiatrists, mental health counselors, and school-based counselors and psychologists across the country by the year 2025. That number has already swelled to 7800 today.
