Voters will be able to decide on an annual property tax for the Oakland Zoo budget

The pandemic was a wrecking ball to the revenues of countless businesses and ventures that relied on visitors and in-person business, and that includes the Oakland Zoo. 

However, the solution will be put to voters in November. An annual $68 dollar property tax, imposed over a 20-year-period. Seniors and low-income earners would be exempt.
