Trump's Arlington National Cemetery visit sparks strong reactions among vets

View descriptionShare

Last week, former President Donald Trump made a controversial appearance at a wreath-laying ceremony held at Arlington National Cemetery. The appearance quickly turned political and resulted in a physical altercation between members of his campaign and a cemetery official.

The incident has drawn the ire of many who consider Arlington to be hallowed ground and a place that should remain separate from politics.

For more on this, KCBS Radio news anchors Bret Burkhart and Patti Reising spoke with Sandy Alderson, former General Manager and President of the Oakland A's and New York Mets. He is also a Marine Corps veteran who served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He wrote an op-ed in today's Chronicle about the incident.
