Want to hear something kind of nutty? There are likely billions of squirrels throughout the world, but we really don't know all that much about them.

While many homeowners find themselves in a contentious relationship with the critters, frustrated about them digging into gardens and bird feeders and such, experts say squirrels provide important ecological impacts and you should think before trying to get rid of them.
