Public hearings begin today on primetime TV marking the culmination of over a year of evidence gathering by the House Committee investigating the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th of last year. 

There is a need for historical context as well as a discussion of the implication of the rioters' actions on the fate of American Democracy.
