The Supreme Court has denied an appeal by California for immunity in the case of a super-spreading prison transfer at the height of the pandemic.

KCBS Radio's Mike DeWald reports the outbreak took the lives of two dozen prisoners and one guard at San Quentin.

KCBS has reached out to state prison officials for comment, but has yet to hear back.
