As a way to address poverty across the nation, dozens of cities and counties around the US have been giving people no-strings cash aid, an idea that gained popularity during the pandemic when the government issued federal relief funds.
But now, certain Republican-led states are banning that aid, with Iowa being the latest to add its name to the list.
