SJSU tags 'fit bit' to penguins, gathering behavioral data for climate change

View descriptionShare

A team from San Jose State is currently in Antarctica working with other researchers out of New Zealand tasked with fitting Emperor Penguins with small devices to get a better look at where they go and what they're eating. The work aims to get a better idea of how their patterns are changing amid worsening effects from climate change which are especially felt by species living on the ice.

For more on this, KCBS Radio anchor Holly Quan joined LIVE on the KCBS Ring Central Newsline by Michael Kaufman, Dean at the College of Science at San Jose State.
