Today, on Juneteenth, an artist and her collaborators are staging an event in Golden Gate Park.
It's a live version of "Monumental Reckoning," a sculpture built around the platform where a statue of Francis Scott Key — the Maryland plantation owner who enforced slavery as a Washington DC prosecutor and who wrote "The Star-Spangled Banner" — once stood.
KCBS Radio reporter Raquel Maria Dillon spoke with the sculptor behind today's participatory event.
