Proposed law would hold social media companies liable for causing harm to kids

Social media companies could be found liable if their features are found to cause harm to kids in California. Under a new bill advancing through the legislature, companies could pay up to $1,000,000 if their features are found to be linked to things like depression or eating disorders.
