An 8-month-old orphaned bear cub found in South Lake Tahoe last week had to be euthanized last night after extensive treatment by Oakland Zoo vets.

As KCBS Radio reporter Holly Quan tells us, the cub was doing well at first, but just couldn't fight its infections.
