An increasing number of Americans are entering a state of homelessness after the age of 50. A study out of U.C San Francisco finds the epidemic is impacting about 44 percent of the older homeless population.

It's a problem that impacts low-income seniors, especially in the Bay Area where housing costs and rent are increasingly high.
