National Archives asks former presidents, VPs to check for classified documents

View descriptionShare

The National Archives today sent out letters to former presidents and vice presidents asking them to look around for any leftover classified documents from their terms. This comes on the heels of the recent news of top secret files popping up in the offices of President Joe Biden, former Vice President Mike Pence, and, of course, at former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate last year.

KCBS Radio news anchors Bret Burkhart and Patti Reising spoke with David Greenberg, presidential historian and professor of history and media studies at Rutgers University.
