Liz Chaney ousted by Trump-backed candidate in landslide defeat

View descriptionShare

GOP Congresswoman Liz Cheney has become a central part of the GOP opposition to former President Donald Trump and that may have cost her her place in Congress.

Liz Cheney officially conceded the primary election in her home state of Wyoming yesterday to a Trump-endorsed candidate who had been projected to edge her out.

For more on Liz Cheney's defeat in her home state, KCBS Radio news anchors Eric Thomas and Melissa Culross spoke with Katie McNally, assistant professor of political science at Eckerd College in Florida who studies Congress and authored the book "Representing the Disadvantaged: Group Interests and Legislator Reputation in U.S. Congress."
