Lake Tahoe offers fun 4th of July actvities for familes including a firework show

As we've been reporting, things are heating up in the Bay Area.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for much of the area, with temperatures in parts of the East and North Bay expected to climb as high as 110 degrees. There is a Red Flag fire warning in effect.

PG&E has also started shutting off power in several rural North Bay counties, and cooling centers will be open throughout the Bay Area for folks seeking relief from the heat.

Meanwhile, fire agencies across the Bay Area are expanding on-duty staffing and placing fire apparatus in key locations as the heat wave really gears up today, accompanied by gusty winds.
