The Saudi government has given its version of the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, saying the Washington Post columnist died during a fight inside Saudi Arabia's consulate in Istanbul.

As that news was breaking, Bay Area Congresswoman Jackie Speier was in the KCBS Radio studio. She told KCBS News anchors Jeff Bell and Patti Reising that she wants a transparent investigation into the events surrounding his death and the U.S.'s relationship with Saudi Arabia.
