Israeli forces have taken control of the Gazan side of the Rafah crossing overnight, marking the first ground operation in the city and halting all inbound travel and aid.

This comes as Israel sends officials to Egypt to negotiate over the ceasefire and hostage release deal already accepted by Hamas.
