Investigators are trying to determine what caused a 3-alarm fire near Laney College in Oakland that damaged two buildings.

Oakland Fire Spokesman Michael Hunt tells KCBS Radio's Patti Reising they were called around 1:20 to the fire on 6th Avenue and East 8th.
