A new report out today finds the strength of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (AMOC) in the Atlantic Ocean, is now weaker than it's been in 1,000 years. It's been dubbed the “Achilles’ heel” of the world's climate system and with the power to flip warming periods to intense cold in the Northern Hemisphere.
