East San Jose Community Organizer Appeals for More Small Business Support

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine released a report this week on intergenerational poverty in the United States. It contained grim findings but also highlighted viable solutions to combat what the author says is one of the nation’s most pressing challenges.

New study hopes to reduce inter-generational poverty

Late on Saturday, a coalition comprising eight unions, representing a total of 75,000 Kaiser Permanente employees, announced that they have been unable to reach an agreement on a new contract with the company. 

This situation now paves the way for what could potentially be the largest healthcare strike in U.S. history on Wednesday.
