Doctors to receive new guidelines for IUD insertions aimed at reducing pain

Getting an IUD can be an extremely painful and sometimes traumatic experience for some women. However, when preparing patients for the procedure, the pain is often described as 'discomfort.

But now, health officials say they will be directing doctors to give new guidelines for navigating the procedure, which would include physicians considering various anesthetics.
