Comprehensive drug education may be the key to keep teens safe from opioids

Many California students recall the "Just say no" campaigns from their school years, in which drug safety was taught with a simple instruction of refusal. 

Some experts argue that drug education should take a more comprehensive approach, offering students the full picture of the dangers of drug use, and how to honestly explain addiction. 

For more on this, KCBS Radio's Jennifer Hodges spoke with Doctor Bonnie Halpern-Felsher, Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University and Director of the Stanford REACH Lab, which studies how to reduce young adult substance abuse.
