Competing in an eating contest can lead to bad symptoms and poor health

The winner of the annual Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest ate a total of 58 hot dogs in 10 minutes. This would equal to about 5 or 6 hot dogs a minute.

Although it is a yearly tradition dating back to the 70's, it begs the question how are they able to eat so much, and what does this do to their gut heath?
