Climate gentrification: how disasters deepen financial inequities

As residents on Maui affected by the fires continue trying to rebuild, there's rising concern that locals who lost their homes won't be able to afford housing elsewhere.

This comes as climate-related disasters are becoming more and more of a norm, regularly displacing people who don't have a wealth of other options.

For more on this, KCBS Radio's Margie Shafer and Eric Thomas spoke with Jesse Keenan, Professor of Sustainable Real Estate and Urban Planning at Tulane University, he's spoken about the idea of "climate gentrification."
