City of Oakland ramps up efforts to keep illegal fireworks off the streets

It's hot, hot, hot in the Bay Area and across the country this week and heat-related fatigue can have complex, negative effects on our brains and bodies if we don't take steps to beat the heat.

This is especially true of first responders, members of the military, and endurance athletes who need to maintain quick reaction times and good decision-making under hot circumstances.

Animals ease anxiety at San Jose airport

The fast-growing Thompson fire, burning in Butte County near Oroville, has scorched over 3,500 acres since it started on Tuesday.

The fire is still only 7% percent contained and 20,000 people remain under evacuation orders.
