The Governor also said he wants to spend eleven billion dollars to build "a modernized transportation system for the next century." 

But absent on that budget proposal was any new money for high speed rail.

KCBS Radio's Jeffrey Schaub reports, that makes it unlikely the bullet train will expand beyond the Central Valley for some time.
