As we've been reporting, a landmark ruling came down today from the California Supreme Court.
In a unanimous decision, the court has upheld Prop 22, which classifies gig workers as independent contractors, rather than employees.
The ruling is being hailed as a big win for Uber and Lyft who, along with other app-based services, spend more than $200 million to pass the measure back in November 2020.
For more reactions on this, KCBS Radio anchors Patti Reising and Bret Burkhart were joined by Jeremy B. White, Senior California Politics and Policy Reporter for Politico.
