Today is Black Women's Equal Pay Day, an annual day of action bringing attention to the wage gap experienced by black women in the United States.

This comes as new research shows recent policy, as well as societal factors have worked to make it even harder for some communities to be financially stable.

Mold-breaking Congressman Pete McCloskey dies at 96 years old

With more than 42,000 women dying from breast cancer each year in the U.S., national health experts are significantly changing their recommendations when it comes to screenings.  

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force now advise women aged 40 to 74 should undergo routine mammogram screening every two years.

This marks a departure from previous guidelines, which only recommended women to make individual screening decisions in their 40s but advised starting no later than age 50..
