As Prescribed: UCSF is leading research on Gould Syndrome, a rare disease

A new groundbreaking study is debunking a previous study from more than two decades ago that changed the way women were treated for menopause. 

Researchers found that younger women starting menopause and experiencing symptoms can take hormone treatments for several years with a lower chance of side effects. 

The recent study is a sign of relief for many women who were told in the past that treatments could increase the chances of encountering other health issues
