Taking a closer look at what Latino voters in California are prioritizing this election season

View descriptionShare

We are drawing ever closer to November and to when America will decide who will be the next president. According to most polls - at least so far - Vice President Kamala Harris holds a narrow lead over former President Donald Trump. But here in California, especially among Latino voters, support seems to be tipping a bit more blue.

A recent statewide survey has found that Harris has a strong lead over Trump among California’s Latino communities - 60% choosing Harris, 28% with Trump. But this poll looked at so much more when it comes to what Latino voters are concerned about this election season.

To help us delve deeper into all this, KCBS's Mary Hughes is joined by Christian Arana, vice president of civic power and policy at the Latino Community Foundation, which conducted the poll. The LCF is the nation’s largest Latino surveying organization, working to invest in Latino-led organizations and to increase political participation of Latinos in California.
