San Mateo County is partnering with the state to provide improved protection for farm workers from bird flu infection.

Firefighters are still on the scene of a large blaze that erupted at a construction materials warehouse in West Oakland last night. 

Following last year’s deadly mass shooting at farm worker housing in Half Moon Bay, everyone from the Governor to city officials to locals called for something to be done to improve the conditions these workers have been living in.  

We have a crop of new state laws going into effect on July 1st. One of them requires financial institutions to track gun purchases.
