Reports this week of a new deal that will see the UN nuclear watchdog remove remnants of Assad-era nuclear material from Syria indicates an Israeli intelligence success in detection and surveillance and, no less, a strategic-political success in achieving the agreement, according to Dr. Ofer Israeli, an expert on international relations at the Ashkelon Academic College.
