Iran is activating its doomsday weapon: an economic war and severe damage to oil exports from the Gulf, which account for about 20% of global oil, by moving to block the Strait of Hormuz and paralyzing oil exports. Dr. Yaron Friedman from Haifa University’s Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies, says the measures being taken by Saudi Arabia and the UAE are expensive and temporary. He told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that it was important that Iran’s enemies are not tempted to strike Iran’s oil facilities since it could severely damage attempts to rebuild Iranian economy after the war.
