A man made a purchase at Walmart in cash and then got an email asking for him to rate and review the product. There are rumors that Walmart is using facial recognition.   Hot Tea: It’s reported that Taylor Swift paid a couple to move their wedding date so she could have her wedding on that date at the venue she wanted. Kenny Chesney revealed that Mac McAnally had some of Jimmy Buffet ashes in his pocket when they performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Columbia is offering to give someone all the rights to “The Company” if they can prove the Earth is flat.   A guy tried to save an injured raccoon on the side of the road. He picked it up and put it in his car. While driving to a rescue center, the raccoon bit him in the face. Unfortunately, the raccoon had rabies, so the man will have undergo treatment.   A few days ago, we did a ragebait prank about Morgan Wallen. Karly posted the video on social media; with the fact it was ragebait in the caption and at the end of the video. Most people didn’t pay attention and started correcting us again... including Morgan’s mom and grandma! He is determined to make sure that Emma and her boyfriend are self-sufficient and know how to cook for themselves.  

Nancy felt bad for a bunch of old men in Hobby Lobby yesterday. She thinks that their wives had forced them to go shopping and that they were miserable.   A little kid told Karly, “You scare me,” at gymnastics class. Karly didn’t understand why, but Joey and Nancy said that Karly can definitely be scary and intense because of her facial expressions.  Hot Tea: The president of the Kansas City Chiefs said that they will never show Taylor Swift on their screens or play her music in their stadium; they don’t want to monetize her and Travis’s relationship. Morgan Wallen’s newest album was the most streamed album of the year on Apple Music. He posted it on Instagram with the caption: “I let my fans do the talking,” seemingly referencing his recent losses at award shows. A raccoon got into a liquor store, got drunk, and passed out in the bathroom.   “Ragebait” is Oxford Dictionary's 2025 word of the year. The word is used to describe content that is created to make people mad or upset, so they are more likely to engage with the content. We decided to do a ragebait experiment where we said that Morgan Wallen went to Central High School. It worked really well – tons of people called and texted us to tell us we were wrong.   Lucky 7   We listed out some of our favorite items that would make good Christmas gifts!  Joey had another mold inspector come out to his house. After he left, the guy called Joey, said he had left his jacket, and asked Joey to put it in the mailbox for him to grab. Later, Joey got a notification on his doorbell camera that the man was on his porch. He left Joey a $20 for being nice about his jacket!  Simon Cowell from American Idol regrets how rude he was on TV while on the show, but some of that was creative editing on the television crew’s part. Joey says that people have thought he was rude before when he really wasn’t. We got a listener on the phone that once thought he was rude, and we let her tell her story. It was just a misunderstanding due to Joey’s introverted-ness.   Nancy is a little upset because Kim Kardashian released the “10 KIMmandments” of business and she agrees with all of them. 

Nancy wants her whole family to have matching stockings, so she bought brand new ones... plus four extras. She is worried that in a few years she will have more grandkids or her kids will get married and that the store won’t sell those stockings anymore. So, she bought extras and is thinking of buying more.   Nancy’s Christmas decor looks like a department store or bank lobby, while Joey and Karly’s houses look more like classic 90s/early 2000s Christmas with colored lights and homemade ornaments. We debated which decor was better.   Nancy went to Knoxville Utilities Board to buy her kids gift cards for Christmas. The employees had never sold one of the gift cards before, so it took forever for it to get figured out. Thankfully, all of them were super nice!  On the way back from Iowa over Thanksgiving break, Joey and his family stopped in Springfield, Illinois and saw Abraham Lincoln’s tomb. It inspired Joey to go on a deep dive about the tomb, how his sarcophagus was opened once, and what bodies might look like during decomposition.   Hot Tea: Lane Kiffin’s dog may not actually be his dog, and he may have left the dog in Mississippi. Johnny Cash’s estate is suing Coca-Cola for using a Johnny impersonator’s voice in a new commercial. A man had a cigarette lighter remover from his stomach, and it still worked after being removed.   Joey got a red-light ticket in the mail, and he isn’t sure if he needs to pay it or not. Most people told him not to pay, but others said he had to.   Lucky 7   Nancy was really proud of her cute outfit yesterday until a man at Academy thought she was wearing scrubs.   The woman behind our favorite complaint call, Brenda, passed away over the weekend. We’re back!   Joey traveled back from Iowa, Nancy spent time at home, and Karly slept a ridiculous number of hours over the break.   Today is the last day of class for Professor Nancy's UT class. Instead of holding real class, she is taking all the students to Main Event.   Monday Morning Wake Up Call with 10-Year-Old Oakley and 9-Year-Old Kendall!  Karly had to call 911 while working at Fantasy of Trees on Saturday. A man collapsed outside and needed CPR and an AED. It was really scary, and it made her want to renew her CPR/AED certification.   Hot Tea: Lane Kiffin is officially going to coach LSU Football. 600 frozen turkeys were spoiled due to a truck breaking down the night before Tracy Lawrence was supposed to give them out to families in Nashville. He put out a call for the community to bring spare turkeys, and they brought over 2,000! Riley Green let Charles Barkley come on stage with him at a show in Auburn. Charles praised Auburn and had some choice words for Alabama.   Joey and his wife Jhasta were super excited about the new season of Stranger Things. Joey wanted to watch it with Jhasta, but she watched it without him because he fell asleep.    Americans spent a BUNCH of money on Black Friday. Nancy went shopping a little but left because the crowd was too much. Most “sales” aren’t even worth the hassle!   Lucky 7   Joey survived Thanksgiving at his mom’s house, even after the drama last week. Nancy refuses to decorate outside her house for Christmas because it’s too warm outside. However, it’s going to be cold on Friday so she may do it then. Joey needs to get out his Christmas inflatables (the Grinch, Buc-ee Beaver, and a Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake).  Nancy’s husband is off work all week, and he’s been keeping himself busy with household chores. He told her that he would be a good “house husband.”  Joey is headed home to Iowa for Thanksgiving, and he is not looking forward to the weird macaroni and corn casserole his family makes. We talk about other odd side dishes we don't like such as green bean casserole and Karly’s grandparents’ “pink stuff.”  Nancy is determined to wear a funny costume in the WIVK Christmas Parade. She has been begging Joey for years to dress up in inflatable reindeer suits. This year, she found someone that could make us those costumes out of balloons.   Joey finally had someone come out to his house and check for mold. Turns out, there is mold in his crawlspace. It is going to cost a lot to fix, so he is going to get a few other opinions before scheduling anything.   Lucky 7   Everyone in the WIVK staff except Heather was denied for the Savannah Banana ticket lottery.  All of us want tickets and we aren’t sure how we are going to get them. The Bananas say they are making their own ticket resale site where all tickets would be resold for face value. Hopefully that works out for us!  We debuted three new Thanksgiving songs! Joey sang “Sweet Pumpkin Pie.” Nancy sang “Any Ham of Mine.” Karly sang “Before He Eats.”  What Makes You Special? Joey and his son went to the store, and the lady that checked their receipt before they left asked Joey’s son (who is 12 years old) if he wanted her to draw a smiley face on the receipt. They both thought that it was weird.   A bald eagle dropped a cat onto a lady’s car, and it completely shattered her windshield.  Monday Morning Wake Up Call with Two 12-year Olds! A Southwest airline passenger was escorted out of an airport for screaming at a gate agent. The Department of Transportation wants to stop unruly behavior by having people do things like say please and thank you, help others, and dress up to fly. Hot Tea: Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie XO, is going to jail because she has been unknowingly driving on a suspended license. Luke Combs couldn’t get anyone to collab with him on his new album. Former President George Bush called his daughter’s show, Jenna and Friends, “dumb.” Stranger Things season five comes out this week! Joey is super excited about it. Nancy has been watching a show on Netflix called Absentia and loves it so far.   Kidsgiving is back! Our third annual toy drive benefiting Helping Mamas Knoxville will be December 6th from 1pm to 4pm at Foothills Mall. Bring new and used toys! Nancy called Joey’s mom to ask her to move her Thanksgiving time, and it didn’t go very well.  One Minute with Mike Keith! Nancy’s daughter’s boyfriend is determined to cook a Thanksgiving dish this year even though he’s never cooked before.  

Karly is back from the CMA Awards!   Joey bought milk but then left it in the trunk of his car. He checked the temperature with a meat thermometer but then dumped it out.   Nancy says that Joey and Karly are napping wrong. Joey says he can't nap, and Karly sleeps for hours when she naps. According to a study, people should take short naps for no longer than 30 minutes.   Hot Tea: Two new Frozen movies are coming, and the actors are being paid $60 million each. Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes seem to have broken up again based on some cryptic posts on Chase’s Instagram. Rice University is offering free food, drinks, and beer to people that will come to their last football game of the season.   Nancy thinks that her dog, Brisket, is jealous of her new baby grandson. He was not happy that the baby was getting all the attention yesterday, and he retaliated by using the bathroom all in the floor.   Our boss hit a deer on the way home from the CMA Awards. It shattered the windshield and ripped the driver's side mirror off. Thankfully, he and his wife are okay. There have been so many deer related accidents lately. Joey revealed that he once hit a deer while driving his brother’s car.   Lucky 7   Joey is going home to Iowa for Thanksgiving, and there is already some drama happening. His parents are divorced, and they both want to have Thanksgiving at noon. He can’t be in two places at once, so he isn’t sure what to do. Luke Bryan, Kid Rock, and Vice President JD Vance were all in the Knoxville area this weekend. Luke was at his son’s football game, and Kid Rock and the Vice President were at a fundraiser at Blackberry Farms. Unfortunately, during the VP motorcade, there was a car crash involving a TN State Trooper SUV and a Maryville PD motorcycle officer. The Maryville officer is in critical condition, and we are thinking about him and his family.   Nancy asked her kids what they wanted for Christmas, and they said they wanted their bills paid. She doesn’t mind doing that but wanted them to have gifts to open. She did some research and found out that you can buy KUB (Knoxville Utilities Board) gift cards!   Monday Morning Wake Up Call with 13-Year-Old Greyson  Nancy is really tired of her husband’s coughing and hacking at night. It keeps waking her up! The Ravens players have lost their ping-pong privileges in the locker room because they keep losing games. A little boy was arrested for having a bag of chips.   Group Therapy! My wife wants to put out a sign on Halloween that says, “NO COSTUMES = NO CANDY” and I don’t know how to handle it.   Lucky 7   We opened up the phones to allow people to grief our loss of Coach Vitello. We had a few women call and express their sadness – including Morgan Wallen’s Mamaw Kay!  Nancy’s dog needs surgery for a torn ACL. She took him to the doctor yesterday and got a lot of news: He needs to have surgery at UT Vet Hospital, he will be put in an oxygen chamber, he will have to wear a pair of toddler pants, and he is obese.   Eric Church and his buddies needed a last-minute Halloween costume and had to dress as Sesame Street Characters.   Scream Clubs are a new typer of gathering where people get together and just scream. We had people call us and scream. 

Nancy brought her bulldog Brisket into the studio because she has to take him to the doctor right after the show. He had a little incident while we were on the air…   Nancy learned a lesson from Joey’s introverted-ness. She was next to someone she knew in the school pickup line. She know’s he is very introverted so she decided not to wave and make him talk to her. Joey was proud!   Hot tea- The items stolen from the Louvre have most likely been melted down and sold. Morgan Wallen FaceTimed a fan whose mom has brain cancer. People on TikTok are taking hollowed out pumpkins to Starbucks and asking for their drink to be put in them.   A guy on TikTok perfectly imitated what every maid of honor speech at weddings sounds like.   Joey had to pay $300 for a $9 part for his house’s air conditioner. He understands paying for the install and experience, but that’s a huge difference!   Lucky 7   Nancy and Karly wrote songs to beg TN baseball coach Tony Vitello not to leave. We found out that Karly can actually sing??      

Joey still hates it when Nancy sings her good morning song. He is also confused about how our body adjusts to temperature in the winter vs the summer.   Tennessee is not on the list of states that are most likely to have Bigfoot sightings. A guy called and said that we were wrong and that he’d seen Bigfoot before in Tennessee.   The AWS outage yesterday affected a ton of online services. One of those services was Canvas, a schoolwork website that UT and a lot of other schools use. Most students couldn’t do any schoolwork.   Hot Tea: Jelly Roll wants to turn part of his property into a free rehab and therapy facility for boys that were like him as a kid. Chris Young was accused of being hammered on stage after he was offbeat on one of his songs at a concert. Charmin is bringing back its “Forever Roll” of toilet paper that is supposed to last a month.  Nancy’s 12-year-old has been complaining about Nancy’s cooking. He claims to not like the meals she has been making for dinner and has started sending her Instagram recipes.   Kohler, the toilet company, is selling a new health screening tool for toilets. It’s a camera with AI built into it that can analyze what you drop into your toilet. The camera can only see what is inside the toilet, not your body.   Lucky 7   New updates have come out of the investigation of the little girl who fell off the Disney cruise ship a while back. It turns out that her mom was the one encouraging her to sit on the railing. The dad didn’t know what was happening until he heard the mom scream. That is when he jumped in after the girl.   Kenny Chesney was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame last night.   What Makes You Special? Joey and his kids played Singo last night at a pizza place and Marvin won!   Today is Joey’s dad’s birthday and Joey had no idea. He doesn’t remember things like people’s birthdays, eye color, etc.   Nancy took her pregnant daughter to the OBGYN yesterday. While there, a nurse asked when NANCY was due! Nancy doesn’t even have a uterus.  Hot tea: Keith Urban had to cancel a concert due to laryngitis. Zach Top didn’t do an encore at a concert because he wanted to watch a Mariner’s Baseball game. It’s National Boss’s Day and our coworker gave us a card to sign for our boss. The first person to sign it wrote a paragraph, and we all feel like we have to follow suit. Joey doesn’t want to do that.  Kim Kardashian spoke about her relationship with Kanye on the Call Her Daddy Podcast. She said that he once gave away their 5 Lamborghini cars.   Joey had an unexpected fishing buddy at the park last night. A guy started fishing near him and they talked a bit. Joey then had the guy help him take each fish he caught off the hook.   Joey and Nancy tested Karly on her knowledge of items from the items. She looked at pictures of items and had to guess what they were.   Hot Tea: Ella Langley’s new song's cover art seems to be taking a jab at Riley Green and Megan Moroney. Eric Church dedicated a song to his wife during a show, and she was not happy. A guy in California was pulled over for driving with a hand drawn license plate on the car.  We gave away a “Lainey’s Night Out” package that includes tickets to the show, a gift card to Gilly’s Western Work, and hair and makeup from TN School of Beauty on the show day.  Karly had Joey email one of Taylor Swift’s managers to ask about us interviewing her. The manager called Joey and was very nice, but declined the interview. We are sad, but glad we tried!  Lucky 7   Nancy’s son played football and their team lost by a ton. She was making fun of a dad who stayed optimistic until the end even though they were losing. Then she quickly changed it up and said she thought it was great that he was so supportive.   We played Rocky Top Roulette to give away tickets to Luke Combs’ show at Neyland Stadium!  Group Therapy: My kid saw my parents making out in the garage!
