Joey and Nancy kicked off the Friday before Tennessee football season with plenty of Vols talk, including visits from Mike Keith and Brian Rice, plus chances to win Tennessee football tickets, Tucker Wetmore tickets, and rodeo passes. 

Nancy shared the latest update on her massive raised-bed garden project, which already includes $600 worth of garden beds, 7,000 pounds of rock, and plans for tomatoes, potatoes, onions, carrots, corn, beans, zucchini, and okra. Joey joked she’s building her own mini Biltmore. 

A young listener named Ryker won Tucker Wetmore tickets after being the first caller to hear the “Tuck, Tuck, Goose” sound effect. 

Nancy vented about a funeral she recently attended after a man who never met her uncle delivered a 45-minute eulogy full of incorrect details. That led to Nancy outlining her own funeral wishes, including bright pink clothing, a short service, cremation mixed with pink glitter, and speeches only from people who actually knew her. 

The show welcomed Yoshi from Tokyo, Japan, owner of the Good Ol’ Tennessee Bar and president of the Tokyo UT Alumni chapter. Yoshi traveled to Knoxville for the Furman game and fulfilled a lifelong broadcasting dream by helping host Lucky 7.

Mike Keith returned for “One Minute with Mike Keith” and revealed that the most trouble he ever got into came after a prank phone call in high school that unintentionally upset a woman who thought she had won nearly $1,000. 

Nancy continued rallying support for her rodeo appearance at the CASA Rodeo and gave away seats in the “Nancy Nation” cheering section. Listeners competed with Nancy impressions, and the segment ended with a contest to do the best Nancy laugh.
