For this edition of Colbert Court, Attorney Glenn Klausman Shortly after midnight, deputies came upon a driver who had run off the road into a ditch. It was obvious the driver was impaired. The driver was a short drive from home and the supervising deputy decided not to arrest the driver and instead gave the driver a ticket for careless driving. Moments later, the driver crossed a center line and killed an oncoming driver. Can the family of the deceased recover compensation from the sheriff’s department?
