Blog—September 9, 2025-9-10---Tax Talk -Tim Ness—Show 49-63

    Once a month---Tim Ness---Voted Sioux Falls BEST TAX and BOOKKEPING service 20 years in a row—answers all the changes that are happening ---it is indeed a show---I learn something, the audience learns something---and it keeps you updated on the changes being made by IRS----and other so-called bean counters----

    One thing for sure with Tim Ness---he has the experience working with the IRS---- and with people for 2 decades here in South Dakota-and before that---Minnesota.

    Among the topics ---the September 30th date that is approaching from the IRS---that checks will no longer be excepted. He shared how you can (and must) pay the IRS in the future---credit card certainly one of them.

    He shares the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill”----takes time to understand it and review—and Mr. Ness does show in each of the last 3 or 4 monthly shows.

    Of course it makes sense if you are leaning one particular way—but if you aren’t and are worried—politicians have already decided you don’t really matter---then you look at it differently. But Mr. Ness does talk about the Bill in the show—and my job is to keep it as even-handed as I can. Something I try to do with every issue.

    Among other topics discussed—the IRS keeping you walking the straight and narrow----particularly with gambling that you aren’t claiming.

    Tim talked about the students back in school---working jobs---and then being responsible for taxes in that particular state.

     Mr. Ness and team---do state income taxes for people who need help. Of course South Dakota doesn’t have a State Income Tax--- but they have the books to help you with income in those other states that do have a State Income Tax. Interesting how they can do that---and make sure those living in South Dakota---are protected from other jurisdictions.

      We mentioned September 30th---as the last day you can pay the IRS in checks---September 15th is the date that S-corp and Partnership returns are due to the government.

      Tim Ness---takes calls---in our show---sometimes they come or sometimes callers get bashful on the air—and give the question information to Norm to share with Tim and for me to ask.
