Blog—September 5, 2025-9-10—It’s YOUR Business
Our It’s YOUR Business---Family Friday Show—covered a lot of ground with most of our usual crew in the 9-10 hour.
We started with Jodi Schwan----quite the reporter—quite the entrepreneur ---and what a communicant.
She wanted to talk about the building permits---what we have in the bank for the first 2/3’s of 2025.
The Airport officially kicked off the concourse expansion, she reported new Cherapa starting with Breadico Café---and I asked why Sanford Health was acquiring an old friend—in Lewis Drug.
Two well known players in the market---and it gives people who need in health in Health Situation---quite the players.
Should be interesting and as Jodi put it--- it good to have two from this local area working together than a buyer who would should be coming in the market and would have a lot of work to do.
Jessie Schmidt---BBB of South Dakota shared shopping for Labubus----avoid counterfeits with tips---make sure you aren’t getting counterfeited…it can be from the latest hot toy---fake websites and products---that can give you trouble. If it sounds too good to be true---call someone that knows---counterfeiters believe and most times are right that “a sucker is born every minute---and they are easy to “lick” in life. Call—don’t get taken---and if you need to—call Jessie at the BBB or someone else you can trust.
Teri Schmidt--- Experience Sioux Falls again reminded us that while tourism numbers are down 5 to 7% depending on the month—it still means we have figure that what was happening nationally had fewer people that were able to travel.
When they do travel for the Sanford International –or the pheasant hunting season. Hopefully part of the reason is that we have created a place for them to be comfortable. And we should always welcome the visitors. Teri has preached that for years—and we couldn’t expect any more from any of us. Now is the time with the Golf and the hunting.
Kip Rounds talked about the anticipation for what is expected to be a lucrative hunting season the pheasants are reported to be plentiful and ready for the battle. In our report—he explained what was different this year in 2025.
Tenny Snyder---talked us thru the Sanford International which is a week away. We talked in the 9:00 and 10:00 hours and will have more conversations next week. She outlined some of who’s coming from all over the world—and how with 2-3 years left on the Sanford agreement with the Senior Tour----we want them to keep coming back.
Our reports talk about what you need to know on tickets, times, players and being made to feel welcome.
Among those advocating the Sanford International---Cat Clark who manages Prairie Green----Elmwood and another course or two. That group always sees a spike in golf play during the International Tournament. That means not only play but equipment clothing—and all that goes with it.
John Gaskins updated the playoffs for the Sioux Falls Canaries---now down 1-0 in the best of 3 with the Sioux City Explorers. The Birds can lose in either game or 2025 will be history. They have had a great season---the fans have loved it—and we have loved following along.
No Downtown Report---not sure what they did without announcing it—but we still find it our responsibility to support the events Downtown. We did so—but Downtown wants you to patronize their members and enjoy Downtown Sioux Falls.
Diana Patterson—Sanford employment opportunities—the ask ---for nurses---and it includes not only Sioux Falls but a number of other locations in the Sanford System.
Listen live to the show at 1320, 105.1, 107.9---use the KELO Ap—Streaming on line or just ask Alexa.
Norm Anderson posts the podcast----and makes sure we have the correct audio in the studio and over the air. My job is to schedule the guests—prepare the Q & A----and write this blog. Questions for me—feel free to call/text at 605-728-2455 (BILL) or email me at bill.zortman@mwcradio.com
