1. Dental Bus in partnership with school district and Delta Dental is back in action at local schools providing dental care to students

1. We have a new pediatric dentist that started this past week who is part of this outreach team to focus on kids dental care. Having a specialist helps us see more total kids and handle more complex cases.

This seems and for good reason to put a spotlight on Dental Care in our schools-----and to see more kids---get them treated seems to make a lot of sense---

1. You've been the Dean for about seven weeks. What has impressed you most so far?

• The people
• Strong culture of collaboration
• Commitment to students and South Dakota
• Appreciation for the support and leadership of Dr. Tim Ridgway
• I will continue listening and learning from alumni, faculty, staff, clinicians, etc from across the State.

1. How is the School of Health Sciences helping address South Dakota's workforce needs?

• Educating future healthcare professionals (e.g. nurses, physician assistants, social work, occupational therapy, dental hygiene)
• Clinical experiences across the state
• Partnerships with hospitals, clinics, schools, and communities
• Focus on improving access to care, especially in rural areas
