Blog---September 12, 2025—9-10—It’s YOUR Business

In our Friday---9-10—It’s YOUR Business Show—we bring family together to talk about almost all the things that have been going on and will be going on.

Jodi Schwan---Sioux Falls Business got us started---and of course we had to talk about the Sanford International Golf Tournament. It is one it not the biggest sporting event we see each year in Sioux Falls, While we were just starting our engines with our Friday Business Show—they were doing the opening ceremonies at Sioux Falls Country Club. Jodi keeps a close eye on what is attracting attention, what people would want to read about---and just why it needs to continue.

Jessie Schmidt---BBB of South Dakota---had us talking about people buying Sports Team Merchandise---but if you don’t do a little research first you could be surprised by stuff that isn’t a part of a famous athlete. The same with promised vacations---that turn out to be a dud—a phony---something you got taken for. If you think that is the case—before you lay down the green—make sure you get what you were promised—or what you thought it would be. BBB is there to help keep score and tell you when it is really a “Foul Ball”.

Teri Schmidt---Experience Sioux Falls and Kip Rounds—South Dakota Game Fish and Parks—talked about their expectations on the pheasant season—the fishing finish to  be reason as well. Teri was talking about the October 16-17th Fly-in and the season opener on October 18th. Something we always keep a close eye on.

Kip---about the October 4th Festival----staying at one of the South Dakota State Parks---and what you might expect to get for the upcoming season.

From there we jumped to Brandon Hanson Downtown Sioux Falls---he had 5 top events for your consideration

---2----Remedy Oktoberfest—tomorrow 11 to 10PM—Remedy Brewing Company—it’s the 9th Annual Enjoy German inspired food, a stein holding competition, games and live music –don’t miss out on Downtown’s own bier fest---plus look for celebrations at Fernson and the Holiday as well.

----3----Root Fest—Saturday---noon to 9. 2nd annual Roots Fest bring full day of Brazilian-inspired culture, food and live music to Downtown. It’s family-friendly, vibrant and one of the most unique festivals you’ll find all year.

Cat Clark talked with us about the importance of the Sanford International –not only for that tournament but the game of golf gets an extra life-span rather than just shutting down the greens on Labor Day. It’s good for the game---it is good for the community and good for the family to get out together to enjoy this Sanford International Event as well as different parts of your own family tree.

John Gaskins joined us---talking about the Sioux Falls Canaries now in the 2nd round of the playoff with a chance to make the finals. At the same time he was talking about high school football games—still raging on this weekend. Busy time---when you throw in the 3rd big event—Sanford International.

Diana Patterson—Sanford Career Opportunities---- each week she provides another chapter in opportunities that are available—not only for Sioux Falls—but other Sanford sites seemingly everywhere.

Listen live to the show at 1320-105.1-107.9—use the KELO App-streaming on line---or just ask Alexa. Norm Anderson posts the podcast of the show---my job is to schedule the guests—write the show—and then prepare this blog which explains what is in the show and where.
