I’m Bill Zortman and Welcome to our It’s YOUR Agri Business Show—Show 50-13 in our ORIGINAL It’s YOUR BUSINESS SERIES.

We’ll talk to Blackburn’s in a minute---but lets get started with Darren Hefty—AG PHD----

   Darren---good morning-----

When it’s dry like it has been for much of the fall season, does field traffic with trucks and combines still create soil compaction?  If so, how do farmers address that?

We’re seeing fertilizer spreaders out in many fields across the region.  When they apply the nutrients next year’s crop needs, explain why they do it now rather than next spring.  Also, explain how it is that they can vary the application rate as they go through each field.  Why do they do that?

Much of the harvest goes back home with the farmer and is put in grain bins.  How do they put grain in the bins?  How do they get it back out?  Are there storage issues farmers need to manage for?

South Dakota Soybeans President is Kevin Deinert---most people all over the country want to know what to do with the beef and Argentina------and some of our DC delegation is telling the media—just call us next week---how do we fix this kind of problem
