   Casey Crabtree---yes Statewide Voice from Madison—and leader in the legislature shred with us the feedback on the prisons---summer events –downtown Rotary---what to expect with the summer session and his trip to the Nation’s Capital next week –to listen and yes report for us to what is happening in DC on issues affecting South Dakota. One report out this morning—Federal Cuts are impacting South Dakota Programs totaling over $23 million so far. 

    In addition to DC---summer session will be upcoming in the next few weeks in Pierre---what will they get accomplished---and how do people around South Dakota feel? Sir Crabtree gave us thoughts—and where we are and where we are going. 

    Been an interesting year---and we aren’t even half-way thru.

    Jim Schmidt---Mr. Lincoln County joined us this morning---lots of talk about the prison that many pointed to should be in Lincoln County. Most discussions now are not in Lincoln or in Minnehaha. Something we’ll continue to watch—and we know Schmidt-ie will help us follow along on where we are and just where prison(s) will go. 

    He was in meetings before he went on the air with us---and he gave us a look at what the discussions are and where we can expect to be. 

    While neither Lincoln or Minnehaha wanted to jump on the prison needs to be here scenario---Erick Paulley—with the help of Steve Kolbeck—talked to us about a special ribbon cutting with Xcel Energy that is schedule for 1:30 on Thursday. The Xcel Energy Service Center at 500 W Russell will be in their large new building on the east side of the property. Mayor Paul Ten Haken---and Xcel Energy CEO Bob Frenzel will speak at 1:30—in an event that wasn’t really opened to the public. We will follow along on Friday—to share what else we should know and what the discussions were on Thursday. 

     Brent Baloun---Plains Commerce Bank talked to us about being the PLANNERS. Whether it be agriculture, business, senior citizens or newly married ---they have 8 or so locations across South Dakota that help the planning. They aren’t the biggest bank but they do to take care of those they serve. We enjoy talking about it—and even learning what they do to prepare their staff to be so efficient.

     Sarah Heinrich—KFGO Fargo—had the Growing Harvest Network—Matt Swenson—shared the morning commodities---from Swenson Commodities. Grain-meat—energy and yes even the Big Board on Wall Street.

     Kelly Kelly made a promotional to visit to the show to talk about helping those 59 or is it 69 plus to have the tools it takes to have a home. Kelly with her husband Dave---are a part of our Remodelers Show this coming Monday---and the Report Card Show on Monday June 9th. It’s a show 9-10 you shouldn’t miss.

    Mr. Tree joined us in this show. Yes John Ball---travels not only South Dakota—but neighboring states—and locations north, east, south, and west—and worldwide taking care of trees. He joined us this morning to update us on the students—the trees and their troubles and even leaf problems. 

    Lisa Ottmar----talked with us about the life-death scenario---set for Saturday May 3st from  to noon---where they are handing out free 988 yard signs to anyone. It will be at Minnwest Bank at 57th and Louise----even some free mental health training at Peace Lutheran. 

    It is about Step Forward to Prevent Suicide---we have seen the loss of our family and friends---and Lisa helps with the Step Forward to Prevent Suicide event promoting hope and healing and raising awareness and support for the Helpline Center’s suicide prevention.

    Mr. Tree John Ball—joined us as we learned about the latest on our trees---what he teaches---and why he is such an ambassador and professor that makes a difference.

    We closed the show with Laura Edwards---South Dakota State Climatologist---getting a handle on what to expect this weekend---how we are doing on moisture---- and what to expect as we go into June.
