Love it when the gang gets together Friday morning for It’s YOUR Business show. The guests enjoy doing it---the listeners need the information delivered on time—and I get to help bring all together.
We start with Jodi Schwan---Sioux Falls Business---we have been working together for 8-10 years---that is a lot of Friday’s—and a lot of events to have a choice to be a part of.
Jodi’s in-sights:
Weather is warming—means we’re starting to see some behavior issues downtown---the city and non-profit partners are planning just how to address it for the season aheadYOU ARE seeing new convenience stores all over Sioux Falls---and one even had three ribbon cuttings in one weekMore pedestrian friendly is a need right now. Neighbors are banding together and in All Saints to talk about 14th street.Know she knows much more than that—and we’ll see what else slipped out and let you listen to the podcast to be sure.
Jessie Schmidt---helps us stay up to date—or at least refreshed on the scammers that are out there. For instance –VOICEMAIL Left by SCAMMER: For the end of the month we have received a notice that your taxes need to be settled before the end of the month and if you call today we can help you to reduce or possibly completely eliminate your overdue tax debt before you receive a wage garnishment. Then they give you a name—a phone number—and continue the big lie. They want you go get an IP Pin---and then you are really in the trouble.
Questions about this call Jessie---or your Better Business Bureau—they can help—and do like clockwork.
Another Schmidt—Teri joined us as well—promoting the heck out of being able to Experience Sioux Falls –and she can help you nominate who you believe is the best in town.
April is the beginning of the summer tourism season—and it typically goes thru October.
We did a little who-what-where-when-why on getting ready for tourists—what in Sioux Falls attracts true tourists---
Kip Rounds—South Dakota Game Fish and Park—made it quickly know even with snow flakes forecast this weekend---the 60’s-70’s and 80’s are the most common. Spring fishing best bets are targeting walleye and northern pike.
Brandon Hanson---Downtown Sioux Falls 9th annual mash madness is coming to a close---breweries bars and coffee shops are bringing their best creations to the table and you get to decide the winner, DTSF will hold a press conference in early April Announcing the winners of the Craft Beer, Craft Cocktail and Craft non-alcoholic categories.
Big night tonight at Lincoln High School---The Sioux Falls School District will celebrate Unified Night. The event features Unified basketball teams, cheer teams and show choirs from each of the four high schools at one huge extravaganza—celebrating inclusion, unity and friendship. Each of the four basketball teams will play each other, with halftime and in-between shows from cheer teams—and show choirs---
Drake Bachmeier explains for us---
Jim Ohlander—calls the Sioux Falls Stampede RED HOT----they are closing the season with a few games and have really high hopes for the playoffs coming in April. We will find out why----still some play-off implications and why this team is so special----
